Please help me! How to get him to commit to me!?

I have been talking to this guy for almost a year now and he is awesome! I love the way we vibe and everything. He is perfect for me. We go out every week and my family loves him. But... he is still not ready to commit to me! He says he is still young and he wants to have his fun which is understandable but it puts me in an akward position. I dont know what to do! I really want to be with him and I can tell he really likes me and wants to be with me! I know almost everything about him. I read up on some articles about the topic and they say he would not have told so much about him and his life if he did not want to be with me. So im really confused. Should I wait for him?? If so how how long?? I really want to be with him and he wants to be with me to but just not now. So please help meee! I dont know what to do at all. I was going to just stop talking to him period but he said he still wants me as a part of his life. And I dont want to stop talking to him but I dont know what else to do! I dont want to lose him.
