What do you like to see in your director?

I'm directing at my college this Fall. I've directed before, but I want to improve how I communicate with my actors and techies. So, actors and techies, what are some things you like to see from your directors? Tactics they've used that have been particularly effective in communicating? What are some things you didn't like? Tell about your best/worst experience with a director. I'm not floundering and clueless over here - I'm just striving for perfection. I know what I like in a director, but everyone is different, and I'd like to know. Thanks!
