Is making Airsoft my hobby really worth $400+? Airsofter's only please!?

So I use to play airsoft, but it was just for fun. I had a 200$+ gun and I played with friends who had the same priced guns. Now, I want to start going to fields such as SC Village or Tac City, and I wanna get on a team, I'd be going every sunday or so. I was wondering if this is all worth $400+? I mean, I know I'll need the gear later on when Zombies attacked and stuff, but still. Help meee! I'm in a pickle. Appreciate it.
